Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Takapau

“To provide the best Te Aho Matua education we can for the tamariki of Tamatea, aided by the support of our whānau, hapū and iwi”

LOCAL GOALS

At Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Takapau we believe:

  • In providing an education so that our children strive for excellence in both the Māori and Pākeha worlds.
  • That pupil achievement is maximised by the setting of realistic but high expectations for teaching and learning.
  • That the development of literacy, numeracy, and essential learning skills should be the major focus of our classroom programmes.
  • That ongoing assessment and self-review processes applied in classrooms and school wide are essential to the improvement of learning and teaching.
  • In striving to provide a safe classroom and playground environment where every individual is respected and valued.
  • That encouraging confidence and self-esteem will lead to positive independent individuals.
  • In developing mutual respect and support between staff, students and community.
  • That attractive buildings and grounds enhance the learning environment and special nature of our Kura.
